Climate Policy Engagement Overview: The China National Food Industry Association (CNFIA) has significantly limited engagement on climate policy. It supported China’s carbon peak and neutrality targets, but has not disclosed positions on other climate policy strands in 2022-2024.

Top-line Messaging on Climate Policy: The China National Food Industry Association (CNFIA) has limited but positive top-line communication on climate policy. In its 2022 Report on the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Food Industry in China, published in June 2023, the organization supported China’s 2030 carbon peak and 2060 carbon neutrality targets to achieve GHG emissions reductions in line with 2°C. In the same report, it also supported the circular economy in China, however, without clearly stating the aim to achieve net zero emissions. InfluenceMap did not find evidence of CNFIA's top-line messaging on the Paris Agreement or the need for government policy in response to climate change in 2022-2024.
