In a 2024 YouTube video, Astra International supported the electrification of road transport, stating EVs ‘serve as the foundation for a greener and more sustainable future for Indonesia’. Astra Otoparts, a subsidiary of Astra International, supported the transition to more environmentally friendly vehicles; however, the 2023 Sustainability Report, published in 2023, lacks clarity on the specific types and technologies used for ZEV development. However, Astra International in its 2023 Sustainability report appeared to support the reduction of coal use in the energy mix, but the pace of the supported transition is unclear.
Industry Association Governance: Astra International has disclosed its membership to industry associations in its Sustainability Report 2023, published in 2023, but it does not disclose a detailed list of its industry association's engagement on climate policy issues. Astra is a member of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) which has both positive and negative engagement on climate policy.
