Climate Policy Engagement Analysis

Climate Policy Engagement Overview: Anhui Conch Cement exhibits limited engagement and does not specify many clear positions. It has positive top-line messaging on climate policy, including support for China’s 2060 carbon neutrality target and the Paris Agreement, and is supportive of the decarbonization of cement production. However, the entity exhibits limited engagement with other types of climate policy.

Top-line Messaging on Climate Policy: Anhui Conch Cement appears to support climate policy in its top-line communications. In its 2024 ESG report, published in April 2025, Anhui Conch Cement disclosed its direct engagement with decarbonization standards without reference to the need for increased ambition of government response. In a July 2024 press release, the company appeared supportive of China's 2060 carbon neutrality target. In its 2023 ESG report, published in March 2024, it appeared supportive of the Paris Agreement.

Engagement with Climate-Related Policies: Anhui Conch Cement appears to have limited engagement with specific climate policies. In its 2024 CDP climate change response, the company disclosed that it supported expanding the carbon market to include the cement industry. InfluenceMap did not detect evidence of its engagement on other policy streams.

Positioning on Energy Transition: Anhui Conch Cement appears to have positive, albeit limited, engagement with the transition of the energy mix. In a June 2025 Xinhua Net article, the CEO of Anhui Conch Cement, Yang Jun, supported decarbonization of the cement industry. As reported by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council in March 2024, the company submitted a policy proposal at the Two Sessions, calling for policy support for alternative energy sources to facilitate the transition away from fossil fuels in cement production.

Industry Association Governance: As of July 2025, Anhui Conch Cement has not disclosed any industry associations, nor published a review of industry association memberships and climate policy engagement. InfluenceMap has identified that Anhui Conch Cement is a direct member of the World Cement Association, which has generally supported the decarbonization of cement production.

InfluenceMap collects and assesses evidence of corporate climate policy engagement on a weekly basis, depending on the availability of information from each specific data source (for more information see our methodology). While this analysis flows through to the company’s scores each week, the summary above is updated periodically. This summary was last updated in Q3 2025.
